The Roaring River (2023)

The Roaring River is a journey through the landscape of Greater Manchester's peripheral spaces - suburbs, parks, industrial estates and meadows.

Following the M60 motorway, the ring-road around Manchester, and using it to determine my route knowing it will eventually bring me back to where I started, was the perfectly ironic means of navigation for this project. I had questions, thoughts and feelings which were in many ways the antithesis of the ring-road: I wanted to explore these ideas and, in hindsight, let them co-exist with the motorway.
